Playing in the pool

Easter 2011

We took the boys to an Easter egg hunt at the WARF this year and had a great time. Rowan was thrilled to meet the Easter bunny (as well as many other local school mascots) and loved hunting for eggs. Eli was a good sport about his bunny photo shoot and I am sure will hate me one day for doing this to him. But I couldn't help myself.

I like to call this one, "Eli is healed by the Easter Bunny". There's some theology for you :)

Dying Easter Eggs

Rowan was way more in to dying eggs this year than last year. He has asked to do it again and again. Not sure what I would do with all those hard boiled eggs, so he might just have to wait until next year to do more. He had a little trouble grasping "be gentle" with the eggs, so most ended up cracked, but he didn't seem to mind at all. I had to let go on my inner control freak and let him go to town, making a mess, dying everything and cracking almost every single egg. In the end he had a blast so I guess that's all that matters :)

Finished product.
Washing up all the containers.

On an Easter related tangent, Rowan is really excited to get a visit from the Easter bunny. They other day when I told him about it, he replied, "Can I meet him, and visit his house in the field?". He has also asked every single day since then if the Easter bunny can come over and play.

bribes

Rowan's "sleep in your big boy bed" bribe showed up today and he was thrilled! We have been too, because it was the only thing that has kept in in his bed and sleeping through the night.

Cool tricks

One of Eli's new favorite things is to look through his bowl as I say, "I see you"...he laughs and laughs.
Look what I can do.
Eli is really on the move. Today I put him in the middle of the playroom and by the time I walked to the kitchen I turned around him to find him here, right behind me dancing on the wall.

Eli is 9 months old!

Eli is 9 months old today! Wow, has that flown by! He has cut three new teeth bringing the total up to 5 and a 6th one is on its way. He is mobile and in to everything, he isn't doing a traditional crawl yet, but he has an inch-worm/army crawl/roll technique that is pretty affective. I graduated him to the big tub, a bigger car seat and eating things like cheerios and small pieces of bread. He has quite a personality and is already trying to keep up with Rowan. We thought we were in trouble with Rowan...this one might do us in. :)

Eli in the big tub.

Is there anything better than a snuggly baby fresh out of the bath with fuzzy hair? I don't think so.

yard work with rain boots

What do you wear when it's 70 degrees, sunny, and you are going to do some yard work?...fireman rain boots of course!
