Rowan and I hit a deer tonight about 1/2 mile from our driveway. We were both fine (just shaken) and the air bags didn't even deploy, but it was still very scary. And it left the car in pretty bad shape, I couldn't even open my door more than a few inches. Good thing I drive a mom car, if we would have hit it in Josh's car I think it would have gone through the windshield.

Mowing the Lawn
The Owsley's lawn mower took a break out on our patio for the last couple of days while they got caught in the rain while mowing the grass, and Rowan has become fascinated by the machine. Now that he is walking, he decided to "mow" the patio.

"Fixing" things
Trapped in the house again with crazy weather and a sniffly kid, we had to get creative to pass the time. Yesterday was Rowan's first attempt with play-do and today it was 'fixing' things. he has been obsessed with tools forever, but yesterday he saw me replace some batteries in a toy and he was mesmerized. I took out the bit from an adjustable screw driver and let him go to town fixing things all over the house. Here he is giving his push lion a tune up.
Monkey needed some fixing too...

Leaf blower
Most kids are scared of loud noises, and the things that make them, right? Not this kid. We have already established his love of vacuum cleaners, dust-busters, the dryer, but now we have broadened the scope to leaf blowers. When you first turn it on, you might think Rowan is scared, because he is shaking...then you realize he has a huge grin on his face and is shaking out of pure joy and excitement, in the "I must have that right now" kind of way. Today we walked hand in hand while he held on to the leaf blower helping me clean off the patio. He gave me a very frantic "please" when we were done to ask if he could play with it. He is ridiculous.
Doesn't he look just like a Hayden in this one?

A day at the park
It was very chilly today, but we bundled up and went to the park to get some fresh air this afternoon. We didn't last very long but had a great time while we were there.
Rowan is so affectionate with Josh. This is my favorite shot of the day.
Yes, Josh was in shorts...he wouldn't admit it, but I think he was cold.

Walking
Rowan is starting to get the whole walking thing down a lot better. Here is a little montage of videos demonstrating his progress. You even get to see his monkey/Mowgli (from Jungle Book) crawling/walking a little too! Also, one of our favorite things is that he keeps his left hand/arm up like he is holding someone's hand and walking, so cute.
And here is a short video of Rowan walking and fake crying because he really wants the camera. And so he's following Shey around walking, but also fake crying in hopes to grab the illustrious camera. Ridiculous.
