Father's Day last year was so different (I do remember that Rowan gave you an awesome gift though). I still can't process all the emotions from last year. It was like pure sweet joy collided with the reality of the most horrible pain imaginable and what was left was just numbness. I really think I was afraid to feel either emotion, afraid that one would short change the other. When I think of last year, it still evokes tears and shortness of breath. What a difference a year makes. Now it is all, pure, sweet joy (I can feel this way because I don't have to try to feed Rowan, or get up with him in the middle of the night!!!). You're a wonderful man and a great dad. It's obvious that Rowan is quite smitten with you. He's so very lucky that you are his dad. I love you, Happy Father's Day. Mom
