new tricks

Rowan has been learning some new tricks the last few days. I feel like he is at a stage where every day there is some new change in him. He is verbalizing so much and even has a few 'words' for things. He has also been very interested in using his own spoon to feed himself. It actually gets in his mouth about half of the time.

Here are a few of his tricks:

Summer time

I am trying to switch Rowan's nap schedule so he only naps once in the afternoon. This involves me getting out of the house and occupying him through his normal nap time so he is distracted enough to stay awake. Yesterday we went to Wal-mart and got this little pool. He had a great time splashing and playing with toys, perfect for these hot days!

Really great bed-head

Rowan woke up from his nap today with some really great bed-head. He was so mad about being awake and even more mad that I was taking pictures of him. Josh came home right in the middle of this and Rowan was trying to have Josh rescue him from the mean mommy with the camera.

You might also have noticed that Rowan is acquire quit the stuffed animal collection in his crib. Currently he has wanted his monkey, this little chick that cheeps, and a bulldog.

sleep crawling?

So I have heard of 'sleep walking', but finding Rowan like this last night made Josh and I laugh so hard we had to take a picture. He has just recently started sleeping on his stomach and I guess this is a new pose.

Helping with chores

As soon as Rowan learns to walk I am getting him his own broom. He loves helping me sweep...I know this excitement is fleeting so I want to take advantage of his willingness to help while it lasts!

Rowan's B-day (the prequal)

Rowan turns one on Wednesday, but we had a little pre-birthday party with Josh's family, since they were in town this week. They got Rowan this fun lion that he can ride or walk behind. It also plays music, and Rowan loves it!

We had a big rain storm that afternoon, and Rowan loves the rain. He and G-dawg had fun getting soaked and are now best friends.
