Rowan is growing up fast! Here is the latest where Shey and Rowan are having a conversation, laughing and just having fun. Also here are some pictures of the little man smiling when we could actually catch him with the camera...he's usually all fun and games until we bring the camera close and then he clams up. Apparently he's not a fan of the parent paparazzi.

So here are a couple of good pics of Rowan smiling and my latest favorite, Rowan in a hooded sweatshirt. I mean seriously, I love it. Shey and Rowan came to ultimate frisbee the other night and it got pretty chilly and so Shey put the hooded sweatshirt on him and I just think he looks so cute. On a side note, little man is getting heavier...going to have to start lifting weights to keep up with being able to carry him.

Rowan is starting to find himself in the mirror lately and loves talking to the man he sees in the mirror. It's pretty fun to watch him coo and talk to the baby he sees in the mirror even though he doesn't know that it is himself. We finally got this video uploaded to youtube, and for those who don't live close, we hope you enjoy seeing the little man on film.

Rowan will be 2 months old tomorrow! It is hard to believe how fast the time is flying by and how big he is growing. Below are the 2 month and 1 month pictures with the monkey so as to mark his growth. He's going to the doctor on Monday for his two month check up and shots, so we will know more about how tall he is and how much he weighs then, but we think Rowan is weighing in around 9 lbs. He's starting to push up on his legs if we hold him up, and he's really working hard at holding his head up. He's smiling more and more at us, and he is really starting to focus on objects, coo at us, and pay attention to what is happening around him. Yay 2 months!
So my dad has decided in act of preserving his "hipness" (or rebellion against the notion of being a grandfather at a young age) that he would like to be called "G-Dawg." Not G-Dog, but the mid-1990's slang noun, dawg over dog. Word. In this spirit and in an homage to the bulldog tattoo on his arm, G-Dawg has bought a bulldog stuffed animal and a cool outfit with a bulldog on it for our main man Rowan. Here's a couple of cute pics dedicated to G-Dawg from the young puppy, Rowan. And also a pic with G-Dawg trying to convince Rowan of the need to root for the Patriots and Red Sox. What G-Dawg doesn't know is that we have told Rowan that baseball is an imaginary game that they only play on TV, and that soccer is a much better and real sport.

So Rowan has been smiling for a week or two inconsistently and Josh and I have been trying to capture it without much luck. He especially likes to smile at 2am when he is wide awake and wants to play instead of go back to sleep. Here is a picture of the closest thing we have to a smile. Hopefully we will get faster on the trigger and be able to catch him in one soon. I am excited for him to start interacting with us. Sometimes he looks up at me while he is nursing and smiles, like he is saying "thanks mom". I have to admit it does melt my heart a bit. Which he is lucky it does when it is 2 am and he wants to smile instead of sleep. I shouldn't complain, for the most part he is great. He is sleeping longer and longer now and we really only have to get up once in the middle night somewhere between 1 and 3 for feeding.
Update on me: I finally finished my medication yesterday and got the PICC line out this morning. My arm is a little sore, but I am so glad to be free of one more thing. I am sure I will have a good scar from having a tube in my arm for 6 weeks, but it is a small price to pay to be better. I am about 90-95% myself. I am still pretty sore and tired at the end of the day, and sleeping can be a bit uncomfortable, but it seems to be better each day. I guess my body also needs to get used to carrying around this growing boy as well.
